The Christian & Affliction
Learning about affliction...
...from Job, Jeremiah & Paul
Dr. Thomas will be addressing a subject that is relevant to all Christians: the reality of dealing with affliction in their lives. Dr. Thomas will focus on Scripture’s witness regarding the experience and purpose of affliction, as well as addressing the spiritual profit that affliction produces in the l ives of Christians. The purpose of his lectures is to lead to a deeper and clearer understanding that all things in the life of a Christian, including his afflictions, must work together for God’s glory and to his own spiritual good.
During the Fraser Valley Bible Conference, Dr. Thomas will be presenting three lectures on the following topics:1. Affliction without explanation: the trial of Job
2. Affliction and sanctification: the trial of Paul (2 Cor. 12)
3. Affliction and despair (Jeremiah)
